Delorise Camp (Lillie Delorise Lynch), 79, of Russellville, Ala, passed away peacefully at home Dec. 9, 2024, after a long struggle with dementia. She was born July 15, 1945, in Holly Pond, Ala. She moved to Russellville when she married Elton Camp on March 4, 1972.

Delorise became well-known because of her friendly, outgoing personality. One of her favorite things was talking to people at the Russellville Walmart and other places around town.

She was a member of the Russellville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. A service will be held Monday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russellville. Delorise is survived by her husband, Elton Camp; daughter, María Camp; sister, Judy Lynch (Sam) Viola; brothers, Joel Lynch and Michael (Willette) Lynch and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Akins Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. A private burial took place Dec. 12 in East Franklin Cemetery in Phil Campbell. The family wishes to thank Hospice of North Alabama (especially Kendra England, Lauren Cox, Trinity Futrell and Brittni Moody) and Carewell Home Health (physical therapy) for their invaluable support, love and kind assistance. They also wish to thank Terrace Manor and their rehab program.
