Delorise Camp (Lillie Delorise Lynch), 79, of Russellville, Ala, passed away peacefully at home Dec. 9, 2024, after a long struggle with dementia. She was born July 15, 1945, in Holly Pond, Ala. She moved to Russellville when she married Elton Camp on March 4, 1972.

Delorise became well-known because of her friendly, outgoing personality. One of her favorite things was talking to people at the Russellville Walmart and other places around town.

She was a member of the Russellville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. A service will be held Monday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russellville. Chad DeWalt will officiate. The family has requested no flowers. The service will also be available through Zoom. The Zoom ID is 256 256 2414 and the password is camp (lowercase).

Delorise is survived by her husband, Elton Camp; daughter, María Camp; sister, Judy Lynch (Sam) Viola; brothers, Joel Lynch and Michael (Willette) Lynch and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Delorise was preceded in death by her parents, Lela Alldredge Lynch and Troy Lynch; brothers Charles Tanner, Herschel Tanner, Calvin Lynch, Margaret “Sis” Overton, Margie Lynch Jones, Lorene Lynch Landau, Robert Lynch and Ruthie Lynch.

Akins Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. A private burial took place Dec. 12 in East Franklin Cemetery in Phil Campbell. The family wishes to thank Hospice of North Alabama (especially Kendra England, Lauren Cox, Trinity Futrell and Brittni Moody) and Carewell Home Health (physical therapy) for their invaluable support, love and kind assistance. They also wish to thank Terrace Manor and their rehab program.
