Belgreen girls open basketball season with win

The Belgreen Bulldogs girls basketball team opened the season on Saturday with a win over Pine Grove, Miss., 55-52.

Senior Dacota Green dominated for Belgreen and scored 24 points.

Pine Grove took an early lead, 12-8, and extended their lead by halftime to 27-17.

Belgreen stormed back in the second half, outscoring Pine Grove 17-8 to cut the lead to 35-34. The Bulldogs got the win in the fourth quarter, outpacing Pine Grove, 21-17.

Makenna Fisher followed Green and scored nine points. Carson Hovater, Lily Green and Bryn Scott added five points each. Isabella Tate scored three points, Randi Terry, two points, Lilliana Willingham one point and Mackinley Hogan one point.
