County runners shine in cross country meet

Several Franklin County runners competed in the Warriors Invitational at Oakville on Saturday.

In the Class 5A-7A varsity boys division, four Russellville runners finished in the top 15. Connor Evans finished fifth with a time of 18:08.49. Connor McFall finished 11th with a time of 18:40.81. German Perez finished 12th with a time of 18:43.27. Pascual Felipe finished 13th with a time of 18:43.36.

In the Class 5A-7A varsity girls division, three members of the Russellville team placed in the top ten. Maribel Martin placed second with a time of 22:17. Esbeidy Jimenez placed third with a time of 22:20. Daimar Valdez placed eighth with a time of 23:32.

Russellville boys placed third overall, and the girls placed second overall.

In the Class 1A-4A varsity girls division, Belgreen’s Briseyda Luna finished seventh with a time of 22:48.88.

In the Class 1A-4A junior high girls divisions, four out of the top five were from Franklin County. Phil Campbell had three of the four. Avery Wells won the junior high division with a time of 14:55.41. Phil Campbell’s Rayna Scott finished second with a time of 15:00.57. Vina’s Lindlie Easterling finished third with a time of 15:42.48. Phil Campbell’s Addie Gilbert finished fifth with a time of 16:14.13.

In the Class 1A-4A junior high boys division, Phil Campbell had three runners who finished with sub-16-minutetimes. Jase Quinn finished 15th with a time of 13:38.19. Slade Richardson finished 32nd with a time of 15:00.70. Uriah Fisher finished 37th with a time of 15:54.03.
