Red Bay Founders Fest takes place Saturday

Red Bay’s annual Founders Fest returns this weekend, Sept. 28, in Bay Tree Park and the surrounding area in downtown Red Bay.

Entertainment lineup includes:

9 a.m.   – James Nix

10 a.m.  – Simply Grace

11 a.m.  – The Johnson Brothers

12 p.m.  – Contests and Announcements

1 p.m.     – BPM Trio

2 p.m.      – Sure Destination

3 p.m.      – Joyful Noise

Photo Contest

Drop off your photo contest entries at Red Bay City Hall on Wed., Sept. 25. This year’s theme is “The Year of Alabama Food.”

Quilting Contest

Deliver quilt entries Sept. 25. Quilts will be on display in Weatherford Library during the festival.

Fried Pie Contest

Bring fried pie entries to the gazebo in the park by 11 a.m. Judging begins at 11:30 a.m.

Coloring Contest

Coloring contest forms are available to print. The contest is open to kindergarden through first grade and second through third grade children in Franklin County. Be sure to list the child’s name, address, teacher’s name and school name. Drop off entries at Red Bay City Hall Sept. 25.

Car, truck, tractor and motorcycle show

8 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Cost is $20 for the first car, $15 for each additional. Trophies and prizes will be awarded. All proceeds benefit the Red Bay Senior Center. For more information, call 256-356-9540.
