NWSCC Public Relations Department wins five statewide awards

The Northwest Shoals Community College Public Relations and Marketing Department received five awards for outstanding marketing and public relations efforts by the Alabama Community College System Public Relations Association last week during the ACCSPRA annual conference in Orange Beach.

Along with the awards, NWSCC Public Relations and Marketing Director Trent Randolph was named ACCSPRA 2024 Communicator of the Year. Randolph oversees the branding, media relations, public relations, marketing and promotional services office for the college.

He has worked in the Public Relations and Marketing office for NWSCC since 2003.

The college received awards in the following categories for marketing and public relations materials created and/or used during the 2023-2024 year:

Pyramid Award (First place)

  • Online advertising
  • Outdoor advertising
  • Flyer

Award of Achievement (Second place)

  • Photography (Graphically manipulated)

Award of Merit (Third place)

  • Athletics

The Pyramid Awards ceremony recognized best practices from Alabama Community College public relations and marketing professionals who submitted marketing and public relations materials to an independent panel of judges.

Approximately 330 entries were submitted. The mission of ACCSPRA is to enhance the image, strengthen and promote awareness and public perception of the Alabama Community College System
