Russellville volleyball team takes second place in regular season tournament

The Russellville High School Golden Tigers continued the varsity volleyball season with a busy week on the court.

Russellville hosted a tournament Sept. 7, and the Golden Tigers earned a runner-up finish by going 3-1 on the day. In the opener, head coach Madison Lamon’s Russellville squad defeated Belgreen 2-0 by scores of 25-9 and 25-18. In match two for RHS, the Golden Tigers topped Hamilton 2-1 by scores of 26-24, 19-25 and 15-11. Russellville then swept Haleyville 2-0 by totals of 25-15 and 25-18. In the final match, RHS fell to East Lawrence 2-0. The visitors won by scores of 25-16 and 25-22.

On Sept. 3, Russellville hosted the Wilson Warriors. Wilson took the 3-0 win by scores of 25-15, 25-14 and 30-28. The Golden Tigers opened area play at Lawrence County High School on Sept. 5. The Lady Red Devils got the 3-0 victory by scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-19. On the same day, RHS faced the West Morgan Rebels. West Morgan defeated Russellville 2-0 by scores of 25-16 and 25-20.
