NWSCC hosts youth softball camp

The Northwest Shoals Community College softball program held their Future Patriots Camp at Patriot Park June 10-11.

The NWSCC staff, including head softball coach, Angel Brown, and director of athletics, Taylor Franks, were on hand for the event. Approximately 30 kids aged 5-11 learned softball skills from the Northwest Shoals coaching staff and current players. The number of campers doubled the size of the total count from a year ago.

Youngsters scrimmaged on the NWSCC game field and also participated in drills, including agility and defense, along with hitting. The children received a camp T-shirt and were treated to lunch and snacks.
