Franklin County Schools baseball summary

Belgreen 22, Wheeler 0

Belgreen scored 22 runs on 22 hits in the shutout of Wheeler late last week.

A lot of bats were hot, starting with senior Alex Guidry, who had five hits, including a double, six RBI and four runs. Senior Will King also had five hits, including two doubles, three RBI and scored four runs. Senior Landon Cox had four hits, two RBI and scored twice.

Eighth grader Rush Berryman got three hits and scored four runs. Eighth grader Ty Hamilton had two hits, three RBI and scored two runs.

King got the shutout win on the mound striking out seven batters.

Phil Campbell 8, Lamar County 4

Phil Campbell broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the third, scoring two runs and going on to beat Lamar County, 8-4.

Chandler Benford and Cale Faust both singled and doubled. Koltin Hester doubled in two runs.

Faust was the winning pitcher, allowing three runs on four hits and six strikeouts.

Hunter Motes got the save.

Tharptown 8, Colbert Heights 5

Tharptown pounded out 14 hits in an 8-5 win over Colbert Heights.

Tharptown trailed 5-3 after four innings, but the Wildcats scored two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and two more in the seventh to get the win.

Dawson Higgins doubled three times and singled, had four RBI and scored a run. Jessie Mitchell had three hits and an RBI. Joah Wilcoxson doubled, had an RBI and scored four times.

Wilson 11, Belgreen 3

Landon Cox and Will King led at the plate in an 11-3 loss to the Wilson Warriors. Cox had two hits and scored a run. King scored two runs on one hit.
