Belgreen boys basketball team stays undefeated in area

The Belgreen Bulldogs remained undefeated in area play (4-0) by beating Phillips 65-31.

The Bulldogs put this game away almost from the start, taking a 21-1 lead after just one quarter of play. Belgreen led Phillips 38-14 at halftime and 56-25 at the end of the third quarter.

Braycen Johnson led Belgreen with 21 points, making five three-pointers and scoring 17 points in the first half. Jonathan Mendoza followed with 14 points and Will King with 10 points. Hunter Woodruff added eight points, Alex Guidry seven points, Landon Cox three points and Ben Wilkins two points.

Belgreen fell to Colbert Heights 46-37. The Bulldogs led 16-8 at the end of the first quarter and 28-18 at halftime, but couldn’t hold onto the lead. Belgreen was outscored 28-9 in the second half.

Will King led Belgreen with 13 points, followed by Jonathan Mendoza with 10 points. Braycen Johnson added eight points, Landon Cox four points and Hunter Woodruff two points.
