Belgreen High School athlete signs with softball scholarship

Belgreen’s Hannah Borden signed a softball scholarship with Bevill State Community College recently.

Borden, a third baseman and pitcher for the Bulldogs, had 46 hits last year, knocked in 39 batters and stole 16 bases.

“I am excited to finally complete a goal of mine to have the opportunity to play softball in college,” said Borden. “I am excited and ready for my senior season at Belgreen.”

Belgreen softball coach Sander Tverberg said he believes Borden’s work ethic and knowledge of the game will help her succeed at the junior college level.

“I am extremely proud of Hannah and her enthusiasm to play at the next level,” said Tverberg. “She is a very hard worker, she is dedicated to the game and has persevered throughout her life. She is a true competitor and will be successful in whatever she takes on.”
