Belgreen wins area championship

The Belgreen Bulldogs won their second Class 1A Area 14 championship in four years, beating Hackleburg 3-0 last week.

The Bulldogs, under new head coach Julianna Potts, beat the Panthers 25-14, 25-15 and 25-21.

The win sends the Bulldogs to the Super Regional in Huntsville where they will play Covenant Christian Thursday at 11:30 a.m.

“My girls are performing well right now,” said Potts. “They are continuing to show it on the court. Each game, we have shown we are capable of beating anyone.”

Belgreen enters regional competition with a record of 24-12.
