Belgreen claims B-Junior Girls tournament title

Lilliana Willingham led the Belgreen Bulldogs to the B-Junior Girls county championship at Phil Campbell Saturday. Willingham scored 21 points in the final to lead the Bulldogs past Vina 53-27.

Belgreen held a big 26-11 advantage at halftime.

Willingham was followed by Kiera Smith and Caleigh Dawson, who each scored 11 points. Lily Green added eight points, and Madison McKee had two points.

Vina was led by Kenzie Elrond with 13 points and Layla Hester with 10 points. Kari Harper and Alyx Raper scored two points each.

Belgreen advanced to the finals with a dominating 42-7 win over Red Bay. Willingham led the Bulldogs with 12 points.

For Red Bay, Bella Trassare led with three points. Macie Humphries added two points, and Olivia Wigginton and Libby Thorne added one point each.
