Belgreen gets easy area win over Phillips

The Belgreen Bulldogs dominated the Phillips Bears in area softball action this past week, winning 17-4.

Belgreen scored four runs in the first inning, second inning, fourth inning and fifth inning to run away with the game.

The Bulldogs recorded 14 hits, with several girls having a big night at the plate.

Hannah Borden went three-for-three with a double and an RBI, and she scored four runs. MaKayla Willingham had three RBIs and a hit and a run. Noelle Willingham had two hits, including a double, and scored two runs.  Morgan Vandiver had two hits, two runs and an RBI. Lily Blackburn had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs, and she scored a run. Madison Vandiver had two hits, two runs and an RBI. Katie Cooper had triple, three RBIs, and she scored a run.

Blackburn got the win in the circle. Pitching four innings, she allowed three hits and two earned runs and struck out five.
