RBHS senior Annalise Rogers signs with Northeast

Red Bay third baseman Annalise Rogers has signed a softball scholarship with Northeast Community College in Mississippi.

Rogers has started every game at third base for the Red Bay varsity team since the seventh grade.

“It means the world to me,” said Rogers, a career .450 hitter for the Tigers. “I have worked for this since I was 8 years old. I have always wanted to play at the next level, and to have this opportunity is amazing.”

Rogers has a lot of honors on the shelf. She has been named all-area four years, was a two-time honorable mention all-state player in Class 1A-3A and two-time second team all-state in Class 1A-3A.

While all the awards have been great and a certain barometer of her success, the personal relationships are what Rogers said she loves most about the game of softball.

“The friendships I have made along the way have been the greatest reward,” said Rogers, “and the people the game has brought into my life.”

Rogers said she plans to pursue a career as a pediatric nurse.
