Russellville Middle holds parent night, community job fair

Russellville Middle School held a parent night and community job fair Oct. 5. Attendees received access to free resources and giveaways and also had the opportunity to discuss available work positions with local employers.

“Russellville Middle School’s Parent Night and the Chamber’s Community Job Fair made for the perfect partnership,” said Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Director Cassie Medley. “It allowed parents to meet their children’s teachers while also learning about a number of job opportunities.”

RMS Assistant Principal Monica Moon said students need to see that teachers and families are willing to work together to help provide what’s best for them.

“Despite a stormy afternoon and other events taking place throughout the community, we had around 50-60 families and 15 businesses who participated.,” said Moon. “We are extremely fortunate at RMS to have supportive families as well as community partnerships to strengthen the positive impact we can have on the future of our students.”

Moon said the school is pleased to have been able to host an event to help its students, their families and members of the community, and they hope to hold similar events in the future.

The school and Chamber thanked the following sponsors that helped make the event possible: Pilgrim’s, 306 BBQ, G&G Steel, Papa John’s, NW-SCC, Sunshine Mills, the Army National Guard, Tiffin Motorhomes, Petro Chemical, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Rhett Bradford State Farm, Benchmark Physical Therapy, Gates Rubber, Hamilton Career Center and CB&S Bank.
