Cross-country teams compete in Oakville

Belgreen and Tharptown competed in the Chickasaw Trails Invitational in Oakville Sept. 4.

The 3.1mile race is about competing against oneself as much as it is competing against other runners. At this meet, several local runners achieved personal best times.

Belgreen’s Canaan Stough ran the race in 18.01 minutes – the top time for a senior in the Class 1A/2A so far this season. Ivan Luna has the 13th best time in Class 1A/2A so far for a senior.

Tharptown had several runners achieve personal best times: Gracie Montgomery, Addie Compton, Natalee Franks, Yoseline Flores, Angel Garcia, Ismael Perez, Dylan Valdez and Ricky Santibanez.

The Wildcat boys team finished 10th out of 34 teams. Belgreen finished 20th.

The Tharptown girls finished 14th out of 20 teams.
