Belgreen, Tharptown cross-country teams compete in Florence

The Belgreen Bulldogs and Tharptown Wildcats competed in the Brooks High School Cross Country Invitational at McFarland Park in Florence in late August.

Belgreen finished 10th in the Class 1A-4A division, with Canaan Stough leading the way for the Bulldogs.  Stough finished ninth overall with a time of 19:03.12.

Tharptown had three boys finish in the top 30. Angel Garcia finished 16th with a time of 20:02.47; Ismael Perez finished 20th with a time of 20:17.97; and Dylan Valdez finished 29th with a time of 20:53.60.

In varsity girls action, Tharptown’s Addison Compton finished 25th with a time of 25:52.61. Gracie Montgomer finished 27th with a time of 25:55.22.

Belgreen’s Briseyda Luna finished first in the Class 1A-4A junior high division.
