The first day of school for Russellville students, local churches partnered to host a Back-to-School Bash for all sixth graders through seniors at RHS Stadium Aug. 11.

In addition to games and fun, hotdogs and hamburgers were available, and there was music, worship and a gospel presentation.

“I believe our students had an amazing time at the Back-to-School Bash,” said Travis Flannagin, student minister at Tharptown Baptist Church. “I’m excited to see how God is going to use them this school year.

“One word continues to come to mind to describe this event, and that is community. This wouldn’t have been made possible without the hard work of multiple churches and student ministers united.”

Flannagin said a special thank you goes to the school system, Russellville Electric and Coach John Ritter for all of their help and for allowing the use of the football field for the event.

“Great things are continuing to happen in this community and in the lives of these students,” he added.
