Red Bay picks up two wins over Colbert County
The Red Bay Tigers improved their record to 19-6 getting a pair of wins over the Colbert County Indians last week, 6-1 and 7-5.
Chloe Knoblock strukout eleven batters to lead Red Bay past Colbert County in their first matchup 6-1. Knoblock allowed just three hits and one earned run.
Red Bay scored two runs in the first and didn’t score again until a one-run fourth closing the game out with a three-run fifth.
Annaliese Rogers scored two runs. Emmie Scott and Sarah Eaton had two hits each.
In the second game, Lila Blackburn led Red Bay past the Indians in the circle and at the plate. Blackburn had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs at the plate. In the circle, she struck out eight batters, allowed five runs on four hits.
Red Bay built a big early lead with five runs in the top of the second inning and extended their lead to 6-0 in the top of the fourth inning. Colbert County mounted a comeback scoring four runs in the bottom of the fourth and a run in the bottom of the fifth to cut Red Bay’s lead to 6-5. Red Bay held on for the win scoring again in the final inning of play.
Annaliese Rogers had three hits, including a double, and scored two runs. Georgia Inman had two hits, including a triple, an RBI, and scored two runs. Emma McCollister also doubled in the game.
