Belgreen robotics team places in first competition
Belgreen currently has one team, which includes Landon Cox, Kade LeMay, Crimson Lindsey and Dacota Green. This team competed at the robotics competition held by Tharptown Elementary School Nov. 14. It was their first competition, and Cox said it was a good learning experience for the students.
“They had to learn along the way on their own,” Cox said. The team took second place in its division.
Students have been working with VEX robots, which are different from robots the high school team has been practicing with for BEST competitions. The high school team placed fourth in a BEST competition in October.
The elementary school team will compete in another competition in January. By that time, Cox said there should be two more teams, which will add up to 12 or 15 students.
