Bobcats win four straight

The Phil Campbell Bobcats went undefeated last week, improving their record to 7-1. The Bobcats picked up wins over Haleyville, Hamilton, Sheffield and Central.
Phil Campbell led Central 5-0 before the Wildcats could get a run across the plate. The Bobcats got the easy 6-1 win, despite nine errors.
Rilan Garrison went two-for-four with two runs batted in. Brandon Thomas scored three times for the Bobcats.
Austen Baker went two-for-four with an RBI. Nate Owens went two-for-four with an RBI and scored a run.
Brodie Nix and Mike Wrona also knocked runs home. Cole Motes scored a run for the Bobcats.
Peyton Thomas got the win pitching seven innings and striking out 12 batters.
Phil Campbell 12, Sheffield 0
Owens pitched a shutout as the Bobcats routed the Sheffield Bulldogs 12-0.
The Bobcats led 2-0 going into the fifth inning but broke the game wide open, scoring four in the fifth and six in the sixth innings.
Owens helped his own cause at the plate, going three-for-four with two doubles, five runs batted in and a run.
Thomas went two-for-three with a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored.
Motes came across the plate three times for the Bobcats, and Wrona scored twice.
Owens struck out ten batters from the mound.
Phil Campbell 7, Hamilton 3
Thomas hit a three-run homer in the top of the first inning to lead the Phil Campbell Bobcats past the Hamilton Aggies for a 7-3 win.
The Bobcats moved five runners across the plate in the top of the first inning and held off a push by the Aggies.
Thomas’ home run brought Motes and Daniel Smith across the plate. Later in the inning, Ridge Raper had a two-RBI single, scoring Joe Hardy and Nix.
Raper went two-for-four, including a double and two runs batted in. Nix went two-for-four with an RBI and scored a run. Austen Baker had three hits in the game. Owens also had a double.
Chase Hutchens got the win for the Bobcats, pitching seven innings and striking out six batters.
Phil Campbell 2, Haleyville 0
Owens and Raper combined for a two-hit shutout of the Haleyville Lions last week, helping Phil Campbell to a 2-0 win.
Phil Campbell scored one run in the first inning when Motes scored on a wild pitch.
Raper pitched the first four innings of the game, allowing only two hits and walking four. He struck out five.
Owens came in to get the save, pitching three hitless innings and walking only two batters.
Phil Campbell scored again in the sixth inning when Thomas scored on an RBI single by Owens.
The game ended on a double play when a Haleyville runner was tagged out at second base after a called infield fly.
