Red Bay rallies to down Tremont

The Red Bay Tigers scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to earn a come-from-behind win over Tremont (Miss.) last week, 50-47.

Tremont took a 16-14 first quarter lead and extended that lead to 27-20 at halftime. Red Bay outscored Tremont 10-7 in the third quarter to cut Tremont’s lead to 34-30 going into the fourth quarter. Red Bay outscored Tremont 20-13 in the final period to get the win.

Gath Weatherford led Red Bay with 21 points. Clay Allison followed with 15 points. Hunter Bays added nine points, Jalen Vinson four points and Peyton Green one point.

Red Bay 54, Tharptown 44

Red Bay got some very balanced scoring in a 54-44 win over the Tharptown Wildcats last week.

Eight Tigers got in on the scoring action in the cross-county matchup.

Tharptown led Red Bay 11-9 at the end of the first quarter, but the Tigers took the lead at halftime, 21-18, and extended their lead to 40-32 by the end of the third quarter. Red Bay outpaced Tharptown 14-12 in the fourth quarter.

Green led Red Bay with ten points, followed by Allison (8); Vinson, Bays and Weatherford (7 each); and Noah Brewer and Colton Corum (6 each). Tanner Hamilton contributed three points in the win.

Levi McCormack and Cole Daniel led Tharptown with 12 points and 11 points. Edward Lopez scored eight points, Aaron Creasey five points, Carson Petree three points, Winston Nolen two points and Misael Saldana two points.
