Vehicle strikes two properties

Julio Gaspar Juan is one of three individuals who were in a vehicle that ran off the road and struck property on two different residences the night of Nov. 15.

Juan, 21, who was subsequently arrested, reportedly lives on Washington Avenue, where the incident occurred, according to the Russellville Police Department.

Sgt. Jake Tompkins said officers received a call about a wreck and were dispatched to Malone Street, which runs perpendicular to Washington Avenue.

“The vehicle was first seen on Washington and then on Washington again, where he wrecked out,” Tompkins said.

When officers arrived on the scene, they said they found a homeowner holding down one of the suspects.

“The homeowner said he heard a loud bang and ran outside, where he saw three Hispanic males fleeing from the crashed vehicle,” Tompkins said.

The first wreck occurred when the vehicle ran off the road and struck a vehicle on someone’s property, which was moved by the impact and struck another vehicle on that same property.

The suspect vehicle next struck a fence and knocked a portion of it over.

After the second wreck, the three suspects allegedly fled the scene. Juan was the only one caught, Tompkins said.

“We’re still looking for the other two suspects,” he said.

Juan was taken into custody after being released from the hospital for minor injuries and is now out on bond.
