Green’s Hardware celebrates anniversary

Green’s Dependable Hardware has seen a few changes over the past 10 years for owner Doug Green. To thank customers and celebrate the past 10 years – and the 70 total years the store has been in operation – he is inviting the community to the store Nov. 3-4 for the 10/70 Anniversary Event.

Green said the event will feature a Holland grill demonstration along with live music provided by Southern Strangers.

“We have a good core of loyal customers, and I appreciate them,” Green said.

Green was born and raised in Russellville and has worked at the hardware store for about 33 years, so he said he knows his customer base and is happy to help them.

“It’s about people more than anything. Whether it’s a small or big sale, we want to provide the best service that we possibly can,” he said.

His wife Betsy, who is also the office manager, described the store as a problem-solving business.

“It’s been challenging, but I’ve worked in customer service almost all of my adult life,” she said. “It’s multifaceted – I like it.”
