Peggy Mitchell Hester

Peggy Mitchell Hester, 83, of Russellville, departed her earthly home, family and friends to enter her Savior’s presence and to be reunited with departed family and friends in her eternal home Oct. 29.

Mrs. Hester was a lifelong resident of Russellville. She worked as a floral arranger for 35 years at Flower Craft.  Her greatest joy was found in her family roles as a faithful wife, devoted mother and grandmother and loyal sister and aunt.

Mrs. Hester was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Russellville and had a strong faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Hester, and her son, Timothy Jay Hester.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sara Gibbons Hester of Oneonta; her grandchildren, Ramsey and wife Christy Hester of Savanah, Ga., and Samantha (Andy Peden) Hester of Red Bay; her great-grandchildren, Raylee Peden and Sofia Cali; her sister, Joyce and husband Gerald King, and sister-in-law, Darlene Hester, all of Russellville; special friend, Jess Dickins; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral was held at 4 p.m. Oct. 30 at Spry Memorial Chapel, Russellville. The Rev. Wade Wallace officiated. The pallbearers were Don Hester, Randy Hester, Jerry King, Joel King and Joey King.  The honorary pallbearers were Michael and Joshua King, Ricke and Jed Hester, Randy Swinehart, Rex Mays, Don Cox, Mitch Patterson and Jeff Masterson.

Visitation was held at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until funeral time.

Burial was at Franklin Memory Gardens in Russellville immediately following the service.
