Mr., Ms. NW-SCC goes to Franklin County natives
“I was very excited,” said Hardy, a Phil Campbell High School 2015 alum from the East Franklin area. “It meant I did a great job representing my school and as an ambassador and an SGA Senator.”
Students, faculty, and staff cast a vote for the students who best represent NW-SCC and the college’s mission. All students nominated must be enrolled full time, take classes on the Phil Campbell campus, be second-year students, have a 2.0 grade point average or higher and display leadership in extracurricular activities and community service.
Cantrell, a Russellville High School 2015 alum, was also excited and surprised to have been selected. “It’s an honor for sure,” he said. “It’s a blessing to know people like you and think highly of you.”
Hardy will earn her associate’s degree in May and plans to transfer to the University of North Alabama to purse a degree in education. She is a Student Ambassador, a senator in the SGA and member of Revive Campus Ministries. She is the daughter of Stacey and Carol Ann Hardy.
Cantrell is enrolled in the registered nursing program. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the NW-SCC Jazz Band. He is the son of Karon Cantrell and Stacy Cantrell.
