RPD arrests one for forgery, attempted theft

A Phil Campbell woman has been arrested by the Russellville Police Department following a report from a local financial institution.

Erica Christine Baker, 32, of Phil Campbell, was charged with forgery third degree, attempted theft of property third degree and financial exploitation of an elderly person.

According to the RPD, investigation was initiated when a local financial institution contacted the police department about stolen and forged checks. Investigators arrived on scene and spoke with personnel at the institution, after which Baker was detained. Investigators interviewed Baker, and she was placed under arrested.

Investigation is ongoing, and Baker is in the Franklin County Detention Center, according to authorities.
