Teen dies in head-on collision

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a four-vehicle crash in Tishomingo County Monday that claimed the life of a Red Bay teenager.

Troopers responded to MS 366, near Golden, at approximately 2 p.m., Monday, according to Troop F public affairs officer Master Sgt. Ray Hall. Upon arriving troopers found that it appeared Bradley Wilemon, 17, of Red Bay, was traveling westbound in a 2002 Ford Mustang when he attempted to pass two vehicles. While overtaking the two vehicles, he collided head-on into an eastbound 2012 Chevrolet pick-up, driven by Tarin Puckett, 22, of Red Bay.

Authorities said Wilemon was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center where he later died from his injuries sustained in the crash.

Puckett was also transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Both the drivers of the other two vehicles, which Wilemon was attempting to pass, received no injuries. Both their vehicles were damaged in the crash.

Wilemon was a junior at Red Bay High School.
