Vina cross country takes first place

The Vina Junior High Girls Cross Country Team took first place in 1-3A competition Sept. 3 at the Warrior Invitational at Wilson High School.

Kaylee Thomas (3rd), Sara Scott (6th), Hailey Cantrell (7th), Lacey Scott (10th) and Kathrine Price (15th) made up the winning team for Vina.

Emily Renfrow finished 9th overall in 1-3A. Also participating were Elizabeth Baty (17th), AnnaBelle Humphres (24th) and MaKenzie Thomas (52nd).

The Vina Junior High girls cross country team finished 2nd at the Brooks Invitational Aug. 30 at McFarland Park. Scott finished 7th, and Kaylee Thomas finished 9th in the 1-4A junior high division.
