FCSO arrests man for sexual abuse of 3-year-old

Investigators with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Thursday arrested a Phil Campbell man, charging him with four counts of sexual abuse of a child under 12 years old.

Jimmy Andrew Burcham, 22, of 60 Rainbow Road, Phil Campbell, is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail on a $250K bond for the Class B felony charges, and investigators said the case is still pending with the possibility of more charges to come.

The 3-year-old female victim is a relative of Burcham. Investigators said the FCSO was called to Franklin County DHR Wednesday to take a report from the child’s grandmother, who suspected sexual abuse after something the 3-year-old said in conversation Sunday and Monday.

Investigators made the arrest Thursday after an interview with Burcham.
