Newspaper brings home additional APA awards

In addition to the 12 awards the Franklin County Times racked up last month, the newspaper brought home two additional awards, announced at the Alabama Press Association Convention for the 2015 Better Newspaper Contest and Advertising Contest through the Alabama Press Association.

The FCT claimed first place in its division for the First Amendment Award category, awarded for the special “Sex Offenders: Franklin County” feature, published in October of 2014. This full-page feature was deemed “a very useful package” by contest judges.

It also garnered second place in the Best Public Service category for a special basketball section.

The contest was judged by the Tennessee Press Association.
