United Way initiative keeps it cool

In partnership with Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama, United Way of Northwest Alabama is holding a Fan Drive for residents of Franklin, Lauderdale and Colbert counties through June 30.

The drive will benefit the elderly, those who have handicaps and families with small children who might find themselves without a proper cooling system this summer.

People can drop off fans at Green’s Dependable True Value Hardware, 15220A Highway 43 in Russellville or any CB&S Bank location in Franklin County.

The collection of enough fans will ensure those in need are able to stay cool as temperatures rise.
