Governor swears in community college system trustees

The Alabama Community College System Board of Directors held its organizational meeting May 27.

Gov. Robert Bentley installed the trustees, who were confirmed by the Senate, one for each Alabama Congressional District and one at-large: Al Thompson, III, Ron Fantroy, Susan Blythe Foy, J. Frank Caldwell, Crystal Brown, Milton Davis, Chuck Smith and Blake McAnally.

State BOE member Mary Scott Hunter was sworn in as liaison for the State Department of Education.

Northwest Shoals Community College President Humphrey Lee attended the meeting May 27. NW-SCC Public Information Officer Trent Randolph said they hope to know soon how the new system will impact NW-SCC campuses.

“We are not sure how much or even if change will take place in how NW-SCC … operate(s),” Randolph said. “It is just too early to tell.”
