Third Tuesday program to host Franklin Co. talent

Beginning the third Tuesday of February and continuing each third Tuesday during the year, the Alabama Music Hall of Fame will host a new and entertaining event titled “Third Tuesday at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.”  Each event will feature live musicians during the “Brown Bag” hours of 11am-1pm.

“The live musicians will bring their own special touch of musical accompaniment and local lore to each session.  Not often do you get the chance to hear the real, raw vocals, guitar picking and piano playing from the folks who still carry on the “Shoals Sound” that the area is famous for all over the world,” said Dixie Griffin, Manager of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. “Third Tuesday sprang out from the requests and comments of the Hall of Fame’s many visitors who longed to talk to some local musicians about their talents as well as the talents of those enshrined in the Hall.

“So many of the current groups know and have played music with the honorees,” said Griffin.

This event will be held in the lobby of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame each third Tuesday of the month.  Guest artists in February include Russellville’s Kerry Gilbert and Hugh Banks, known for their participation in the KGB band and include incredible vocal and guitar sounds that will send you home wanting to see them again.

This event is a free event to all those who attend.  Tours of the facility are available.  Feel free to bring your own brown bag and stay for the two-hour concert, mix and mingle with the guest artists, ask questions or make a request for your favorite song.  Seating will be provided
