Roy Carmack Garner, Jr., 76, Phil Campbell, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 at Veterans Hospital in Birmingham.

Mr. Garner served his county in the U.S. Air Force during the Cold War and was later an electronic technician and a photographer.

The visitation was Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral followed in the chapel with military honors.  Burial was at ShadyGroveCemetery.

He was preceded in death by mother, Emma Bonner Garner; and father, Roy C. Garner, Sr.

He is survived by his special cousins, Betty Bonner Burnett and family, Hartselle, Willie Mantooth, Tennessee, Jim Bonner and family, Phil Campbell, John Bonner and family, Prattville, Steve Bonner, Florida, Ann Spells, Georgia, Freda Bonner Bagwell, Mobile, Ed and Ray Garner and families, Illinois; and a host of friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the VA Hospital in Birmingham as well as the Safe Harbor Palliative Care Unit for the love and care of our cousin.
