Clark Lafayette Hicks, 71, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born Dec. 2, 1942 in Dallas, Texas.  He was an industrial engineer for more than 40 years and a faithful Christian.

A memorial service was Saturday, June 21, at First Baptist Church, Red Bay, with Bro. Bill Harper officiating. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery, Vina.

Survivors are his wife, Nancy Strickland Hicks, Red Bay; four sons, Trevor Hicks, Red Bay, Shannon Hicks and wife, Donna, Corey Hicks and wife, Susan and Boyd Hicks and wife, Aimee, all of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sisters, Jan Smith and husband, Charles, Jackson, Tenn. and Lavella McMillan and husband, Ned, Melbourne, Fla.; one brother, Mark Hicks and wife, Ann,  Chicago, Ill.; brother-in-law, Sam Strickland and wife, Pauline, Muscle Shoals; sister-in-law, Carolyn Lindley and husband, Charles,  Vina; thirteen grandchildren, Ashtan, Zachary, Luke, Myles, Lydia, Molly, Shepard, Donovan, Megan, Ezekiel, Adonijah, Isaac and Jedidiah Hicks; two nieces; ten nephews and all of the many surrogate kids who became very special in the Hicks family’s life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olan Lavelle Hicks and Agnese Opal Lasater Hicks and a daughter, Susan Evan Hicks.

Visitation was Saturday, June 21, at First Baptist Church, Red Bay.
