Michael Anthony Blanton, 35, formerly of Red Bay, died Saturday, June 7, 2014 in Franklin County.  He was born March 31, 1979 in Tupelo and was employed as a builder for Gates in Red Bay.

Services were Monday, June 9, at Deaton Funeral Home chapel, Red Bay with Bro. Bo Lloyd officiating.  Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Abbigale Blanton of Spruce Pine; two children, Gregory and A.J. Blanton; mother, Sandra Shaw and husband, Ken, of Pontotoc; father, Mike Blanton and wife, Sharon, of Red Bay; Special mom, Pansy McKinney of Red Bay; grandparents, R.V. and Clara Holland and Linda Blanton all of Red Bay; great grandmother, Ruby Burks of Red Bay; two sisters, Kim Brown and husband, Matt, and Sonya Red and husband, Chad, all of Houlka; step-sister, Summer Hamilton and husband, Baron, of Tuscumbia; father and mother-in-law, Tommy and Jane Voyles of Spruce Pine; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Houston McKinney, Lois Elmer Burks, Edna and Dell Holland and George Blanton.

Pallbearers were Bret Cashion, Justin Raper, Josh Dobbs, Josh Phifer, Jay Mayfield, Jeff Manis, Zack Frederick and Dustin Harris.  Honorary pallbearer was Richard Hisaw.

Visitation was Sunday, June 8 at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
