Primary elections on Tuesday
The Democratic and Republican primary elections will be this Tuesday. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
On the Republican ballot, the following local races will appear:
Franklin County Sheriff: John Cantrell faces Ray Hayse.
Franklin County Revenue Commissioner: Veronica Copeland Stancil faces James Taff.
On the Democratic ballot, the following local races will appear:
Franklin County Coroner: John D. James faces Elzie Malone.
Franklin County Board of Education, District 3 (will only appear on certain ballots): Pat Cochran faces Randy Hester.
Both ballots will also feature candidates running for state office as well as a county-wide amendment concerning the renewal of the one-cent sales tax to benefit the schools as well as road and bridge projects.
