Lawrence Curren Malone, Jr., also known as “L.C., the Pilot,” 76, of Russellville, departed this life on Saturday, April 26, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty Gayle Smith Malone; sons, Larry Malone and wife, Kathy, and Brent Malone and wife, Kristie; grandchildren, Kristin Malone, Keslie Hamm and husband, Cory, Lesley Malone, Ryan Malone, Lauren Malone and Amanda Crowder; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara King and husband, Norman, and Elaine Fuller; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence, Sr. and Agnes Shephard Malone; nephews, Michael Fuller and Wayne Smith; nieces, Faye Hodges and Sue Sheppard; and brother-in-law, Carl Lee Fuller.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Tina Raper and also Hospice of North Alabama (Keesha, Machelle and Amy).

The family received friends at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, with a memorial service following. Officiating was Troy Oliver. A private burial was held in Franklin Memory Gardens.
