Our loving mother, Alice Ernestine Colburn, 83, Russellville, reached for the angels and to her husband, Jack E. Colburn on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Keller Landing Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Mother was an active member of the Jaycets, bowling team, and the Church of Christ. She worked for Bargain Town for 15 years as manager. She had many friends who loved her.

The visitation was on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel, Russellville. The funeral was on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel. Burial was at Franklin Memory Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Colburn; mother, Jessie Ophelia Franks; father, Ernest Howell Davis; and brother, Bobby Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Diane Thomas and husband, Fred, Shelby Willis and husband, Richard; grandsons, Jonathan McKinney, Kyle Frederick and wife, Angie; great-grandsons, Conner Frederick and Sam McKinney; sister, Rosa Mae Kelly and husband, Phillip; brothers, Roy W. Davis and wife, Voncille, Johnny Davis and wife, Betty Ann; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Cottage of the Shoals, Keller Landing, and Hospice of North Alabama who became our mother’s friends.
