William “Chub” Winstead, 68, Phil Campbell, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Helen Keller Hospital.

The visitation was on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral was held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Spry Memorial. Officiating at the service was Bro. James McCullar and Bro. Tony Williams. Burial was at Spruce Pine Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Winstead; children, Greg Winstead, Deborah Brownell and husband, Lee; grandchildren, Shelby and Chloe; siblings, Delano Winstead, Audrey O’Kelley, Mazel Saint (Paul); and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zacky & Lorine Winstead; siblings, Alfred, Melvin, David, Doug, Velma, and Ann.

The pallbearers were Hershel O’Kelley, Stevie Motes, Tony Saint, Cody Fisher, Joe Cothrum, Tim McLemore, and Donald “Bender” Lydic.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Keith Morrow, Dr. Jerry Williams, Dr. Subir Paul, and the nurses of Gentiva Home Health for your love and care of our family.
