Sylvia E. Bentley, 88, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Helen Keller Hospital.
She was born July 27, 1925, in Franklin County. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
Services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Steve Lindsay and David Corum officiating. Burial was in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Red Bay.
Survivors are two daughters, Jackie McCalpin and Bertha Gober; three grandsons, Bobby, Don and Phillip McCalpin; one granddaughter, Kaye Renfro; one special great-grandson, Jeff Wilemon; great-grandchildren, Harley, Christy, Steven Lee, Brandon, James, Joey, Rebecca, Steven, Anthony, Timothy, Justin, Lisa, Amanda and Royce; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bentley; a brother, Trannie Black; and a sister, Gracie Bentley.
Pallbearers will be Phillip McCalpin, Bobby McCalpin, Don McCalpin, Jeff Wilemon, Steven McCalpin and Joey McCalpin.
