County teams participate in tournaments over Christmas break

The following is a recap of tournament play for Franklin County teams over the Christmas break.

BOYS

Belgreen

The Bulldogs participated in the Wayne Bracy Memorial Christmas Tournament at Deshler. They defeated Rogers 64-50 (Chase Landers – 32 points); and lost to Deshler 72-61 (Landers- 35 points).

Phil Campbell

The Bobcats participated in the Winfield Invitational Christmas Tournament. They lost to Hamilton 63-29 (Colton Vickery – 6 points); lost to Winfield 68-28 (Tommy Reed – 9 points); and lost to Oakman 62-52 (Bailey Motes – 15 points).

Red Bay

The Tigers did not participate in a holiday tournament.

Russellville

The Golden Tigers participated in the Wayne Bracy Memorial Christmas Tournament at Deshler. They lost to Central 72-63 (Tyler Willis – 22 points); and lost to Tharptown 91-74 (Smith – 22 points).

Tharptown

The Wildcats participated in the Wayne Bracy Memorial Christmas Tournament at Deshler. The Wildcats defeated Russellville 91-74 (Kelby Hallmark – 22; Max Nolen – 21). They lost to Deshler 71-54 (Riley Nolan – 17 points); and they lost to Rogers 65-55 (Riley Nolen – 19; Max Nolen 17)

Vina

GIRLS

Belgreen

Phil Campbell

The Lady Bobcats participated in the Winfield Invitational. The Bobcats defeated Dora 42-20 (Taylor Pace – 21); They lost to Holy Spirit 61-46 (Taylor Pace – 25 points); and lost to Berry 67-43 (Taylor Pace – 19 points).

Red Bay

The Lady Tigers participated in the Northwest Alabama Christmas Tournament. They defeated Central 45-40 (Kasey Sparks – 15 points); defeated Mars Hill 47-37 (Allie Kennedy – 21 points); defeated Lee-Huntsville 62-54 (Sparks – 22 points); and lost to Woodland 66-45 (Sparks – 23 points).

Russellville

Tharptown

The Lady Wildcats participated in the Northwest Alabama Christmas Tournament. They defeated Wilson 43-39 (Kamri Sears – 19 points); lost to Woodland 71-44 (Sears – 19 points); and lost to Muscle Shoals 47-44 (Kaitlyn Vandiver – 16 points)

Vina

The Red Devils participated in the Covenant Christian Invitational Tournament.  They lost to Saint Bernard 37-27 (Fallyn Shotts – 7 points); lost to Brilliant 62-47 (Sydney Upton – 15 points).
