James Calvin (J.C.) Welch

James Calvin (J.C.) Welch, age 87, went to be with the Lord, Dec. 17, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Welch, was a native of Franklin County, a member of the Isbell United Methodist Church, and was retired from Reynolds.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ura Faye Welch; parents Dexter and Lela Welch; brothers, Lee John Welch, Travis Welch, Golden Welch; sisters, Exsie Duncan, Flora Broadway, Ethel Wilson, Letha Ree Orrick; and great-grandson, Brandon Howard.

He is survived by daughters, Peggy Jones of Union Grove, Mary Plunkett of Hackleburg, Barbara Fleming of Russellville, Nancy James of Russellville, and Doris Dam of Huntsville; grandchildren, Teresa Lambert of Groton, Mass., Gregory Sherrill of Russellville, Terry James of Muscle Shoals, Cassandra Cannata of Tampa, Fla., Daryll Fleming of Decatur, Jeffrey James of Tuscumbia, Eric Marshall of Huntsville, Lynn Yielding of Hackleburg, Reed Plunkett of Phil Campbell, Mark Anthony Dam of Hattisburg, Miss., Jennifer Formby of Harvest; 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville.  Funeral service was in the funeral home chapel with Elton Rutherford officiating.  Burial followed in Franklin Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers were Greg Sherrill, Terry James, Daryll Fleming, Jeff James, Eric Marshall and Reed Plunkett.
