Velma Ruth Michael, 75, of Russellville, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, in Russellville Hospital.

Visitation for Mrs. Michael was Wednesday evening Dec 4, 2013 at Akins Funeral Home. The funeral service was Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 in the Akins Funeral Home Chapel. Conducting the funeral service was Bro. Jim Lumpkin and Bro. Billy Lee.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Ocie Allen, a brother, Miles Allen and three sisters, Gladys Allen, Marie Pickens and Clara Ann Allen.

She is survived by her husband, Jasper Michael; a daughter, Felicia Ford; and a son James Michael; sisters Betty McAnally and Annie Michael. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, William J. Michael Elkins, Emily G. Michael Elkins, Carmen E. Sanchez, Isiac Sanchez, Alex Pedro, Samantha Osorio and Christian Osorio. She has a host of nieces and nephews.
