Doris Jean Hollis Cartee, 66, Russellville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at her residence.

She was a native of Winston County, but had lived in Russellville for the past 33 years.  She was a member of Orange Baptist Church in Russellville.  She was a member of the Pilot Club in Hackleburg and Russellville.  She was employed by Modern Woodmen and served as Camp Secretary in Hackleburg where she would help with matching funds.  She enjoyed all of her clients.

There was a visitation on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville.

Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Jerry Hester and Tony Southern officiating.  Burial followed in Winston Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include husband, Joe U. Cartee, Russellville; daughter, Shona and husband, Gene Weeks, Russellville; son, Chad Cartee, Russellville; special children, Kaysie Pounders, Muscle Shoals, Austin and wife, Melea Singleton, Monica Stanley and Sarah Kate, Russellville, Zack and wife, Jennifer Saint, Waterloo, Karrie Edmond, Winfield, Derek Hester, Russellville,  Steven D. Pounders, Russellville; sisters, Brenda and husband, Larry Wakefield, Haleyville, Judy and husband, Stanley Comens, Haleyville; sister-in-law, Sandra and husband, O’Neal Miller, Haleyville, sister-in-Christ, Libby Tittle, Lynn; grandchildren, Brodie Hank Cartee, Russellville, Lucas and Carson, Russellville, Brianna, Kaitlin and Samantha, Russellville; aunt, Mollie Warren; several  cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Larry Pace, Scotty Defoor, Jerry Ward, Steven Pounders, Kenneth Gravittt and Joey Streetman.

Honorary bearers were Bill Hollis, Junior Burson, Kyle Miller, Al Singleton, Carlos Burelson, Jack Hollis and Bailey Berlin.

She was preceded in death by mother, Lola Jo Hollis; in-laws, Margie and Ullman Cartee; sister, Rita G. Hollis.

Special thanks to, Dr. Pineda and Staff, Brookwood Hospital, 7th Floor Nurses and Staff and Wound Care Center in Winfield.
