Mrs. Betty Florence Hamilton Kelley was born January 23, 1925, in Russellville. She passed into the Lord’s hands October 23, 2013, at Burns Nursing and Rehabilitation, Russellville, at the age of 88 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford T. Kelley, and her parents, Fred E. and Pearl Hargett Hamilton.

She is survived by a sister, Ruth Hamilton Johnson. She is also survived by brother, Joe F. and sister-in-law, Donna W. Hamilton. She is also survived by a niece, Audrey Hamilton Shelton (Kim), and nephews; Hoyt Hamilton, and wife, Carolyn, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Keith Hamilton and wife, Bambi, of Poplarville, Miss., and Gary L. Hamilton and son, Isaac, of Russellville.

Mrs. Kelley graduated Russellville High School in 1944 and the University of Alabama in 1947 with a BS degree in Home Economics. Mrs. Kelley served in the Auburn Extension Service as a Home Demonstration Agent in Henry, Tallapoosa, and Elmore counties in Alabama for a total of 20 years, retiring in 1967. Upon retirement, she married Crawford T. Kelley and lived in Huntsville where Mr. Kelley retired as a civilian employee of the U.S. Department of the Army at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville after 30 years of service. Meanwhile, Mrs. Kelley worked several jobs with various state and federal agencies in Huntsville where Mr. and Mrs. Kelley’s home was located until health reasons caused them to move into Southern Manor Assisted Living in Russellville in April 2010.

Funeral services will be led by Bro. Joe Lenox at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at 1 p.m.  Viewing and visitation will be one hour prior to the service. There will be no graveside service.

Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens in Russellville.
