Donald Wayne ”Donny Red” Pounders, Sr., 61, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Pounders was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a member of Divine Baptist Church, Russellville. He graduated from Russellville High School and was a retired truck driver.

The funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Winston Memorial Cemetery, Haleyville. Officiating was Pastor Caley Farris, Bro. Roger Kennedy, and Bro. Lyman Rea.

Survivors include wife, Shirley Craft Pounders; son, Donald Wayne Pounders, Jr., and wife, Brittany Hall; daughter, LaNeisha Anderson; son-in-law, Darren Anderson; grandchildren, Will Anderson, Haley Hall, Kailyn Hall, and Lathan Pounders; mother-in-law, Shirley I.V. Craft; sisters, Freda Gandy and husband, Roger, and Brenda Roberts and husband, Travis; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by father, Donald Leon “Buddy Red” Pounders; mother, Billie Jo Pounders; sisters, Vickie Jo Fretwell and Debra Kay Grissom; father-in-law, Mickey Craft.
