Back in action

WEB RHS vs Deshler 2013-119-2 Chris Hill tackle

The five football playing schools in Franklin County opened their 2013 seasons last week.

Russellville fell to Deshler while Red Bay and Vina struggled in games against Central-Florence and Waterloo respectively.

Tharptown was the only county school to open with a win, knocking off county rival Phil Campbell.

This week, all of our local teams will begin region play. Russellville hosts Muscle Shoals while Red Bay entertains defending 2A state champion Tanner, Hatton travels to Phil Campbell and Tharptown travels to Vina.

Be sure to check fct.wpengine.com each Friday night for a recap of that week’s action and look for a complete story in each Wednesday’s issue of the Franklin County Times.
