City woman charged in theft

A Russellville woman accused of stealing money from her former place of employment was arrested on Wednesday, officials said.

Margarett Diane Forrester, 39, 1316 N. Jackson Ave., Russellville, was charged with second-degree theft of property and third-degree burglary, Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said.

According to Hargett, Forrester is accused of stealing money from Pilgrim’s Place, a Russellville restaurant, where she had been employed.

Hargett said the theft reportedly occurred during the early morning hours of June 19.

As the investigation progressed, Hargett said Forrester was developed as a suspect.

Investigators said additional information recently became available about the theft that led to Forrester’s arrest on Wednesday.

Investigators confirmed that she is no longer employed at the business.

Forrester is in custody at the Russellville City Jail.
